Journeying Into the Unknown
House of Roots has a rich and fascinating backstory, beginning with its origins as the first kava bar to open in the city of Miami. We started out in a small house in Wynwood, long before the neighborhood underwent the gentrification that it is now known for.
At the time, kava bars were a new concept in Miami, and most people were unfamiliar with the drink and its benefits. Nevertheless, we were committed to introducing this traditional beverage to the community and creating a welcoming space for people to gather and connect.
Over the years, our reputation grew, and our small kava bar became a beloved fixture in the Wynwood neighborhood. We welcomed locals and visitors alike, creating a sense of community and belonging that was truly special.
As the years passed, Wynwood began to change around us. Gentrification swept through the neighborhood, bringing a wave of new development and a changing landscape. Despite these changes, House of Roots remained steadfast in our commitment to providing a warm and welcoming space for all.
Embarking on a New Chapter
Despite the success and popularity of House of Roots in Wynwood, circumstances beyond our control led us to seek out a new and larger space. And so, with heavy hearts, we bid farewell to our beloved home and embarked on a new chapter in our journey.
We found a new location in Miami's Buena Vista District and poured our hearts and souls into transforming it into a new home for House of Roots. It wasn't easy, but we persevered, driven by our commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests.
Unfortunately, fate had other plans, and we were forced to move again due to a series of challenges. But we refused to be discouraged, and we introduced kava across Miami, first in the Little River District, then in Biscayne, and later in North Miami, where we established a kava bar inside Miami Squeeze. Each step brought us closer to our vision until we finally arrived at our new home in the Magic City District.
Currently, with House of Roots products offered at our Miami Kava location in the Magic City District, we continue to thrive thanks to the unwavering support of our loyal customers and the incredible community we have built over the years. We remain dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming space for all, where people can come together, connect, and enjoy the benefits of kava.
